Process & Care for Alaska Ceramic Coats

  • Your vehicle is sprayed with a powerful pre-soak solution to help remove heavy soils and dirt. We then pressure wash off all of that grime, loose dirt, and debris. Your vehicle is then soaked with a paint “shampoo” that acts as a lubricant for the paintwork while we hand-wash the entire ride.

We then rinse and spray your ride with a tar and sap remover, followed by our iron remover. Once these chemicals have been thoroughly flushed from the cracks and crevices with a pressure washer, we soak the vehicle again in our “shampoo” solution. Yeah, we mean it when we say you we’re detail-oriented.

Finally, we rinse and dry using high-pressure air tools to avoid adding any additional swirls or scratches that can come from dry towels. And this is only the beginning.

  • We start by taping off your vehicle’s plastics to avoid damage when we later cut and buff. Working for one panel at a time, we correct the vehicle’s paint using aggressive compounds and microfiber or wool-based buffer pads. This acts as an appropriately balanced abrasive that accurately removes the unwanted swirls, scratches, and scuffs in your clear coat’s top and mid laters.

To avoid damage, we use a precise coat gauge to track how much clear coat we have to work with — this is what gives us precision and keeps your painted surfaces safe. Your vehicle is then sprayed down and hand-wiped to remove all remaining oils, compounds, and residue to prep it for the next phase.

  • Working one panel at a time yet again, we polish the surface back to a showroom shine. Your vehicle’s plastics, tires, and wheel wells are sprayed with pressurized dressing hoppers before the final wipe down. Once the vehicle has been thoroughly cleaned, and the pores of the paintwork are open and free of compounds, polishes, dressings, etc., we can finally get to the ceramic coating process.

  • Once more, we begin this work one panel at a time. The ceramic coating is applied and left to “flash” until cured. The excess ceramic is then wiped off using multiple brand-new microfiber towels. This process is continued around the vehicle until the coat is complete. We repeat this process 2 more times, leaving the vehicles with 3 solid coats of ceramic.

Your vehicle is left overnight to sit on heaters for the final cure. After roughly 10-16 hours of cure time, your whip is ready to brave the elements once more.

  • Avoid all tunnel of “brush type” washes. This is very unhealthy for paint (coated or uncoated) and is one of the few things that will void the warranty.

Instead, use laser car washes or hand wash using a microfiber mitt and a paint-safe dry towel if necessary.

  • Like dentist visits, 6-month checkups are highly recommended for proper care and maintaining a healthy ceramic coating.
